Stafford doesn't practice; Hill to start on Sunday

Matthew did not throw during practice while the media was present. Also, the Lions have announed that Shaun Hill will start Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Matthew Stafford to begin light throwing this week

Matthew talked to Mitch Albom of Talk 760 WJR on Monday, and he said that he will start doing some light throwing this week. No word yet if he will start on Sunday or not.

If you're a Lions fans and are not following Dave Birkett on Twitter you need to. I don't always like what he has to say, but he's a good beat writer that tells it like he sees it and always has the most current news.

Lions hurting without Matthew Stafford

It's obvious how anemic the Lions offense has become since Matthew got injured. It's amazing how in such a short time he has become almost indispensible for the Lions if they are to have some modicum of success.

Detroit Free Press beat writer Dave Birkett had some interesting things to say on his Twitter account. Here's what he said during yesterday's game, "Lions are feisty and not very good right now. Offense has no juice w/o Stafford/Best." Couldn't have said it better myself. And when he was asked about when Matthew would be back, he said, "Wouldnt expect him next wk. Wasn't even 3rd QB today."

Stafford feeling better; Still not throwing

The Detroit Lions held their press conference Wednesday, and Matthew mentioned that his shoulder was feeling better, but he did not practiced and said that he would not start throwing again until the team's staff felt that he was ready to throw. QB Shaun Hill will start for the Lions on Sunday, but head coach Jim Schwartz has not ruled Matthew out just yet. I think it's safe to say that that is just coach talk, and they'll keep Matthew out for another week.

Stafford not expected to play on Sunday

Hi everyone! I was on vacation since last Sunday that's why there were no updates, and it looks like I picked the worst week to miss a game. Anyway, by now you know that Matthew injured his right shoulder in the disappointing loss against the Chicago Bears, and the Lions have been extremely hush hush about his injury, but from all reports is not expected that he'll play this Sunday.

Matthew Stafford named Lions' team captain

Sorry again for the lack of updates. I've just about had it with Blogger. It only lets me log in when it wants to. There wasn't much to update anyway since Matthew barely played in the last preseason game. Something of note though is that at only 22 years old, he was named captain for the Lions. Congraulations Matthew!
