Lions hurting without Matthew Stafford

It's obvious how anemic the Lions offense has become since Matthew got injured. It's amazing how in such a short time he has become almost indispensible for the Lions if they are to have some modicum of success.

Detroit Free Press beat writer Dave Birkett had some interesting things to say on his Twitter account. Here's what he said during yesterday's game, "Lions are feisty and not very good right now. Offense has no juice w/o Stafford/Best." Couldn't have said it better myself. And when he was asked about when Matthew would be back, he said, "Wouldnt expect him next wk. Hi everyone! I was on vacation since last Sunday that's why there were no updates, and it looks like I picked the worst week to miss a game. Blue Perspectives - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan surprises students with Matthew Stafford on ACES Day

After reading this article from The Sacramento Bee, I realized something interesting. That if all four quarterbacks that were drafted in the first three rounds this year start during the season, that Matthew will still be the youngest starting QB in the NFL. He is younger than all of the QBs drafted this year except for two and even then, he is older than those two by only one month. Also, by the time some of his fellow QBs from the 2006 recruiting class step on an NFL field, Matthew will be a three year veteran by then.
